We will comply with the Australian Privacy Principals in the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) in our dealings with you.

We collect information in a variety of ways including when you review our advertisements, register on our website (Website) and microsites for any projects, register at our open homes, display suites or correspond with us.  Also when you deal with us and our selling agents we will record information and particulars about our dealings with you.  We may collect information about you from third party sources including but not limited to property databases, referrals and recommendations from existing clients and various databases in the public domain.

The information that we directly collect from you includes information such as your name, address, telephone number, e-mail address, driver’s licence or passport, property ownership and title details, your ideal property preferences, details of properties sold or held by you, how you heard about us and any properties or projects, your buying preferences, purchase details and selection and other similar information. If you purchase a property through us, we will take a copy of your driver’s licence or passport to verify your identity and confirm whether or not you are an Australian resident.

When you are on our Website or reviewing advertisements or promotions in other forms of social media we may also collect information that is not personal information and does not reveal your identity. This may include cookies which identify your server and your internet browser and may keep variables linked to your browsing history.

We will use the information we collect about you for various purposes including to assist us to provide our products and services to you and promote our business and any properties or projects to you as well as those of our affiliates and related parties. We may use information that we collect to contact you to let you know about us and our products and services including promotions, special offers and events.  We will use the information to comply with all local, state and federal laws, legislation and regulations and to keep your details up to date in our database.  You may elect to unsubscribe or opt out of these types of communications.

We may share your information with our affiliates, related parties, financiers, contractors, consultants, agents and employees for the purposes for which it was collected. We will not share or sell your information with any other person for other purposes and will not supply or pass on your details to third parties other than as described in this Privacy Policy.  Although Murdoch Realty intends to abide by this Privacy Policy, it is not legally binding on Murdoch Realty in any way, other than under relevant legislation and law.

You should be aware that there are risks associated with transmission of information via the internet and electronic storage and 100% security cannot be guaranteed.  However, we will take all reasonable steps to keep the information you have supplied to us secure and protect it from unauthorised use.

If the information we collect about you is incorrect, we would be pleased to correct it upon you advising us about this in writing.
